This morning the world is a bleached out fuzzy place with temperatures down to -15c (5F) and I'm kinda happy to be stuck inside the office. It's also Friday and tomorrow I get to go out and drink wine and have food with Little Sister and Mother Dearest since Little Sister is turning 31 next week (When did she get permission to get so grown up). Looking forward to that!

Yesterday was the first meeting with the Book Club I was invited to join, lots of the members fell to the curse and in the end we were four people, two of which I'd never met. Still, it was a lovely evening of wine, popcorn and talking about books, TV, movies and other fun stuff. As one of the others tweeted on the way home "It's so lovely to spend a few hours in the company of people who just understand what you're talking about". And I agree. I also had an awesome Veggie bagel for dinner and found just enough money left on my coffee card that I could have a latte too. 

So, yesterday was a good day and today looks to be the same so I guess it's true. It can't rain all the time.

...like when I have a customer on the line who will not answer my questions but will give snide degrading remarks about our way of working. Never mind that she makes up her own reality which only partly connects with the actual reality. 

I think I should just pad my desk and be done with it. Or possibly start drinking. 

In regards to drinking, I tried a Lynchburg Lemonade yesterday at the good bye party for a co-worker and it was very tasty. Need to research how to make it at home. And also buy bourbon.

Funnest discussion last night - super heroes/villains with less than awesome powers... like The Spoiler who can change the taste of anything edible and uses it to put pressure on for example the Nobel dinner. Not to mention he gets to explain what his name means all the time. "No, no, it's nothing to do with books or movies, dammit!"

Managed to oversleep this morning, something I haven't done in AGES. I must have done something to my alarm because I woke up to Husband's which rang when I usually head out the door. Still managed to be only 15 minutes late. Now usually I am about 25 minutes early so it's still quite a bit but yay for buffert.

*Wanders off looking for desk-padding...* 

I would just like to thank each and every one of you for your good thoughts and your support this second half of 2010 - it wasn't a very good period for me and I can say that everyone on here and on twitter was what made it tolerable.

It seems 2011 will be a much better year, I start my new job on jan 3rd in a whole new city and it feels like the future is just a little bit brighter.

Now the move is pretty epic, I've lived in the same town my whole life, a comfortably sized city of about 70.000 people up near the artic circle. Now I will be moving to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden and the largest city with just over a million people. Now that might not seem much for many of you who live in much larger cities but for me it's a pretty big change. Not to mention the fact that it's about 1000 km south of where I lived up until now.

I will miss my friends up here terribly and maybe most of all my goddaughters. My darling husband will stay here for a while, until we can find an apartment of our own, and I will miss him too alot. But in the end it will be for the best, I think.

It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life... and I'm feeling good!

Secondly I am doing the big NaNoWriMo this year, the full scary 50k words. I'll be writing in my Chrysopoeia world, the plan is six short stories loosely tied together about the main characters that I've created so far. I'm not going to post this because in the end the goal is to be published but any cheers and good thoughts are welcome.

Speaking of good thoughts we can use a few more of those this week. 'dreas is waiting for word on an interview for a job which would be a wonderful opportunity for us to get a fresh start. So prayers, thoughts or just general good will is very welcome.

darling_lisa asked us to ask her for questions and then answer them. So I did. I did have to take a detour to watch this though :)

1 - Favorite holiday?
Halloween is awesome, it's very free from tradition and musts over here so there's a lot of freedom. I also love Yule and Midsummer, mostly for the food and the parties :)

2 - Hardison bribes Parker into repeating everything Eliot says one day, how does Eliot react?
First he'd get annoyed and get that wrinkle between his eyes, might be some growling too. Then he realized who was behind it all and roped in Parker to take revenge, possibly involving whipped cream and fresh raspberries...

3 - If you were given a million dollars and told you had 48 hours to spend it, after which it would be gone, but you could not spend any of it on yourself, how would you spend it?
I'd give half to charity at once then I would make sure none of my immediate family had any debts left and if there were anything left I would send them all on trips to wherever they want :)

4 - Wicked smile or expressive eyes?
If I can't have both I'd take a wicked smile any day. There's just so much potential in that :)

5 - If you could only look at one male and one female celebrity for a whole year, which ones would you choose?
For the male I would choose Robert Downey Jr. because he's so damn talented and he can be something new every day. For females it's harder, I wanna say Rachel McAdams cause damn she's beautiful but there are just so many interesting women...I think I could look at Karen Gillan for a year and not suffer as well :) Yeah, I think I'd go with Karen cause she's so very expressive too *nod*
