Leverage Squee Post

Second season of Leverage is here and thanks to darling husband I got to see the first episode this morning as I had my coffee.

First of all, Nate - do you really think you can go back to working in an office after the excitement of Leverage Consulting? Really? No... didn't think so.

I'm not gonna do a blow by blow (as I am at work and not able to re-watch just yet) so just a few points I really liked.

Sophie: I love what they have done to her character, less whine, more self-awareness and oh my god her role in the con was hot! Smooth as silk.

Eliot: He rocks so much - and it was so cute how he almost blushed when Sophie asked if he wanted to know what Nate had under the bed. Either he already knew or he really wanted to know. But that is the slash-fan talking - ignore it if that's not your cup of tea. Oh and the snickers when he fired off the explosives and when he made the new door was just priceless - I think that is what he really has missed while apart from the others. The chance to do other things than just hitting people.

Hardison: Glasses! And the scene with Parker in the vault - so sweet. But really darling, you should have asked before you made a hole in Nate's wall.

Parker: One can tell that she has grown a bit during the six months they've been apart. I think she's done a bit of thinking and come to a few conclusions. I bet we will still see her do some real crazy stuff but for now she seems near giddy they are working together again - giddy in a Parker way of course.

Nate: Oh Nate. Don't you know that resistance is just plain futile? And don't think I didn't catch that little tidbit about your dad. So daddy was a mob-affiliate and an addict so now you have no respect for thieves and crooks? I am also very pleased he payed for his drink that he didn't drink.

I wonder if all of them accepted Sophie's invitation to the play (Rooting for the nazi's indeed *snickers*) with the hope that the other would be there too? I think they did. Except maybe Nate who probably accepted it cause he wanted Sophie.

All in all - a great start and I am really looking forward to the rest of the season!

Either he already knew or he really wanted to know.

*chuckles* Yes!

I also loved Sophie's new haircut, and I really appreciated the new, nag-free Sophie. She did look gorgeous.

And Hardison in glasses, me likes! *g*

It was so nice to have them back on the television screen!

I'm glad Nate paid for the shot. And seriously, putting it down on his own free will? Hardcore. I'm totally looking forward to him struggling with not drinking this season. It's nice to pick up after he's clean: Already been there done that with the withdrawl stuff.

It seems like the rest of the team had half a clue what Sophie was up to. Except how Eliot was oblivious to the boyfriend situation. (Which makes me breathe an extra breath of relief, in retrospect, cos I was so afraid the boyfriend was going to be Eliot. Would have been weird for the team dynamic and I'm not a fan of S/E at all.) They were obviously working together to con Nate back into the team, and it worked so beautifully!

I adore Parker's lock analogy. Like, seriously.

I also adore Hardison's glasses. Like, I haven't even got words. I love that style (both David and I have something similarish) and it just suits him so well!

Sophie... oh Sophie, this is the person I always knew you were. No more nagging, yay!

And as for Eliot. Do I even need to say anything? The fighting? The snickering? Was in heaven the first hour and snickering on the re-air. I love that he's getting more face time.

And you and me? Oh yeah. Same page with the kinky toys. The blushing, the stiff language. And in my happy little tinhat world of "Nate and Sophie isn't happening" now that she's got a boyfriend she's totally trying to hook Nate and Eliot up. I can just hear her saying "They'd be good for each other" and Parker nodding (more because this plan makes Eliot blush and that's always amusing cos who knew people that hit things for a living blush so much?) and Hardison's thinking she's crazy and doesn't know which he feels for more, Nate or Eliot...

No, I did not think too much about this. Why do you ask?

:wanders off giggling and is already contemplating downloading the ep for my ipod:

Nate rocks the willpower indeed. :) I wonder if they will have him fall off the wagon or not - I kinda hope not.

Oh yaeh I am really happy the boyfriend wasn't Eliot. That just would turn it into too much of a soap-opera. I am kinda seeing Nate/Eliot/Sophie though...

Parkers lock analogy was fucking brilliant. Plain and simple.

Yeah, Sophie used to be my least liked character but she is steadily climbing now. And she would totally try to get Eliot and Nate together :) *joins you in tinhat-land* I am totally behind you in the reasoning with Parker and Hardison too :)

Have you found any caps of the ep yet? *craves Hardison in glasses images like woah*

The way Hutton talks, I wouldn't think so. He's mentioned (between seasons, even) that playing up the drunk thing for him would be boring. So if he does stumble enough to take a drink, I don't think it's going to play out as far as falling off the wagon would on another show.

If a show on TNT could actually manage to do a poly relationship, I'd be ok with Nate/Sophie/Eliot. TNT doesn't have the balls (and oh god, I can already hear elements of fandom that would say it was making one or all of them sluts, and how that fucking hurts as someone who's poly). I'm not sure I'd read the threesome yet, either. I've never liked the way Sophie ends up characterized when fandom writes her paired. Don't know why...

When it comes to Leverage, the only place I get my caps (barring something weird happening) is [info]live_your_way. Amazing quality, usually gets really good moments. Just, yes. She only leaves the posts public for a week, and then you have to be a member to access them. You should join and take a peek at her s1 stuff :D

ETA: She's not posted them yet, but they're worth waiting for.

I hear you about the poly-ness. Would love to see it well done but dreading the fandom fallout.

I hinted on s/n/e in that little ficlet I wrote yesterday/today and I am tempted to poke at it for my big bang but we'll see.

I joined the comm btw - now waiting patiently for caps :)

I was worried the boyfriend was Eliot too, not because I think Eliot put forward any hints it might be him, but Sophie seemed to kind of be hitting on/flirting/being playful with Eliot the whole episode. She practically cuddled onto his shoulder in one shot, it was very worrisome!

*bounce*
Yes. Big fuckin' YES. Amazing. Ketchup! And Eliot saying "sorry" to the guy he hit on the nose!
One minor thing - I didn't really like the little girl. Can't place exactly why, but she creeped me out a bit. But hey. *shrugs*
Sophie!! Oh yes, that was great!
And getting shot in the chest - does that become a trademark for poor Christian?? That's about what? Third time? *sigh*
*bouncebounce*

At least the shooting wasn't for real this time! Coz, y'know, I don't think I can handle seeing that boy killed anymore!

*giggles* Yup. Sorry, Christian, you can't do anymore death scenes cuz Ele has too many bunnies as it is!

You know I reacted to Eliot saying sorry too - it is yet another sign Nate broke them. The old Eliot wouldn't have said sorry I don't think. :)

And they need to not shoot Christian anymore please! *bounces*

*GLEEEEEEEEEEEEE* Seeing squee posts make the glee so much better! I LOVE having friends who share the squee! *huggles*

The ep was just so awesome! I had managed to forget just how much I missed our show!
Oh, and Eliot totally already knew what was under Nate's bed! *nods*

Oh please can it be next Thursday already?!

Of course Eliot knew what was under the bed ... he bought it for Nate, thinking Nate would need hints/instructions. Boy was Eliot surprised when Nate took one look, tossed it to the floor (where it got kicked under the bed) and then taught Eliot a thing or three. :)

*giggles* Of course! Now if only they hadn't cut that scene from the show!

*nodnod* That is exactly how it went :)

Or possible this is what was running though Eliot's head when Sophie asked: "Oh shit I hope she didn't see the collar with my name on it..."

*huggles back* I knoow - that's why I wrote this. I love reading others squee so therefore I make my own *nodnod*

Ah yes, I was grinning like a loon the whole time through :)

*wishes time to move faster*
